Who we are

Our website address is: https://whatsfordinny.com

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

We use Akismet Anti-Spam, a service by Automattic, to filter out spam comments. The data collected for this purpose may include IP address, user agent, referrer, and other information directly provided by the commenter such as name, email address, and the comment itself.

If you opt to receive replies to your comments, Subscribe to Comments Reloaded will store your email address for the purpose of sending those notifications. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link provided in the email.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Our website may also store cookies to track user interactions with embedded content and analytics tools. You may manage your cookie preferences through your browser settings.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, Instagram feeds, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that content — including tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

We use services such as Instagram, YouTube, and social media sharing buttons that may track you independently. Please refer to their respective privacy policies for details.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics, via the MonsterInsights plugin, to collect anonymized data on visitor behavior such as pages visited, device/browser type, and geographic region. This data is used solely to help us understand and improve site performance and user experience.

Your IP address may be anonymized before it is stored by Google Analytics, and no personally identifiable information is collected through this process.
You can learn more about Google’s data practices here: https://policies.google.com/privacy

Additionally, we use Jetpack by Automattic to track site statistics, enhance performance, and provide security features. Jetpack may collect your IP address, browser info, and interaction with the site.

Forms and Feedback

If you submit a message through a contact form powered by WPZOOM Forms or interact with on-site surveys through UserFeedback Lite, we may collect your name, email address, and any content you provide in the message or feedback.

This data is used to respond to your inquiry or improve our site. We do not share this data with third parties.

Who we share your data with

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service (Akismet). If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

If you have submitted feedback or a form, that data may also be retained for internal purposes unless otherwise requested.

What rights you have over your data

If you have left comments or submitted forms on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

To make such a request, please contact us at: [[email protected]]

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Feedback and analytics data may be sent to third-party services such as Automattic (Jetpack & Akismet), Google Analytics, and WPZOOM Forms (if email delivery is enabled).
